The GIC School is a private training academy that prepares young Chinese students for the academic challenges of international universities abroad. The school occupies a compact two-storey building, which anySCALE transformed into a light-filled and welcoming environment.
Taking inspiration from the communal learning spaces found in Western universities, the design centers around a small open theatre, conceived as the heart of the school. This multifunctional space serves as a library, presentation area, and venue for workshops and breakout sessions, while also providing a fluid physical and visual connection between the two floors.
The overall interior design conveys a sense of warmth and openness. A soft palette of peach and white tones, complemented by light plywood veneers and accents of deep blue-tinted glass, creates a balanced atmosphere that is both friendly and focused — perfectly suited for a place of learning and exchange.
