In the heart of Hong Kong’s urban bustle, anySCALE designed the BMW iSpace as a calm retreat where the daily flow of office workers can pause and unwind. Light, reflection, and layered transparency define the spatial identity, highlighting BMW’s latest generation of electric vehicles.
A flexible façade—created by projecting colored light through layers of semi-transparent glass—stands out amid the dense streetscape, its recessed entry providing shelter from the city’s frequent rain. Inside, a warm coffee bar welcomes visitors, who can relax in soft lounges surrounded by vehicles and immersive LED displays.
Distinct product niches between the showroom’s pillars showcase the BMW i and Mini E models, using metal mesh and mirrored surfaces to expand and abstract the space. Overhead, a sculptural installation of radial lighting and metallic mesh traces the showroom’s semi-circular form, contrasting the raw industrial ceiling above with the precision of crafted details below.
From the mirrored strips inspired by Daniel Buren’s art to the wood-paneled lounge and sculpted stone basins, every element reflects BMW’s design purity. Soft greys and pale blues complete the composition—cool, refined, and unmistakably contemporary.
The BMW iSpace embodies anySCALE’s innovative vision: redefining what an automotive showroom can be for a new generation of urban drivers.
