The newly completed HUATECH office for Huatai Securities redefines the image of a state-owned enterprise through a dynamic, technology-driven workspace designed by anySCALE. Developed under the studio’s Rethinking Corporate Office Strategies framework, the project explores how employees—many with aspirations shaped by firms like Alibaba or Tencent—can thrive within a more traditional organization.
Challenging the stereotype of bureaucratic rigidity, anySCALE applied the principles of Activity-Based Working (ABW), reorganizing two floors into flexible, human-centered environments. Workstations were consolidated into half a floor, divided into four functional zones with greenery and brainstorming rooms shaping flow and privacy. The opposite half opens to a bright, communal hub of sofas and bar tables along the windows, harnessing natural light to foster wellbeing and productivity.
While the third floor focuses on Workstation Optimization, supporting daily operations, the fourth floor is dedicated to Collaboration Optimization, encouraging mobile work and communication. The result is a tailor-made workplace that balances technology, comfort, and creativity — a contemporary space that empowers employees to work, connect, and flourish.
